Freilager residential complex
Between 2013 and 2016, Allreal realised a mixed-use district with 800 rental apartments, 200 rooms for student accommodation, office, retail and catering businesses as well as spacious green and open spaces in Albisrieden, Zurich for Zürcher Freilager AG.
All buildings meet the Minergie-Eco or Minergie-P-Eco standard. Allreal strove for a comprehensive level of sustainability, and this is reflected in the above-average energy efficiency of the buildings, the production of heating and hot water by means of heat pumps from a geothermal probe field, the use of renewable energies, the use of non-harmful building materials, the use of rainwater and the removal of demolition and excavation material by rail. The development is a certified 2000-watt site.
Thanks to various measures, Allreal was able to ensure that all provisions relating to labour law were complied with during the entire construction period. On the one hand, tasks were only awarded to those companies that the trade union deemed trustworthy following a risk analysis. On the other, a register of all companies involved in construction and strict access controls prevented the use of unauthorised subcontractors.
